The Money Grab

Let’s talk about the “money grab.”
I keep seeing people in forums talking about how functional medicine is a money grab.
That it’s just expensive, not covered by insurance, and not worth it.
So let me tell you something from the inside.
I made more money when I worked in corporate medicine.
I could go back tomorrow and collect a bigger paycheck.
But I left — because people weren’t getting better.
Because I couldn’t help them the way I knew they needed.
Because I was being told to spend 7 minutes per patient and call it care.
Now I spend hours digging deep, looking at your labs, personalizing your plan, and walking with you step by step through the healing journey.
And you know what?
Most of what I do in my cognitive program isn’t covered by insurance.
Because insurance doesn’t pay for proactive care.
It doesn’t pay for reversing decline.
It pays for procedures, pills, and diagnoses.
So here’s what I want to ask:
If we think functional medicine is the money grab…
What do we call a system that charges $6,000+ a month for memory care and long-term support?
What do we call the insurance company (and some corporate hospital admin) CEOs flying private jets while patients get sicker?
What I offer isn’t a quick fix.
It’s a commitment.
A process.
A real chance to change the story — before it’s too late.
And honestly? I’ve seen what it costs to not do this work.
Financially.
Emotionally.
Relationally.
So no — this isn’t about the money.
It’s about the mission.
And I’m still here. Helping one person at a time, because I believe your brain is worth saving.
If you’re ready to do the work — not the easy way, but the right way — I’m here.
